Today, we would like to explain how the anesthesia and surgery are performed.

What are the anesthesia and surgical methods for upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, and under-eye fat repositioning?

For eyelid surgeries such as upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, and under-eye fat repositioning, medications like midazolam and ketamine are administered intravenously.

This induces a sleep state where you feel no pain for about 5 to 10 minutes, after which local anesthesia is applied.

Once local anesthesia is administered, the anesthetic is present in the eyelid area being operated on, so there is no pain during the surgery.

Upper Blepharoplasty

During the surgery, sagging skin is excised, fat is removed if necessary, and a double eyelid of the appropriate size is created.

​

Lower Blepharoplasty

During the surgery, fat is either removed or repositioned, sagging muscles are pulled and secured, and excess skin is excised before suturing.

​

Under-Eye Fat Repositioning

Since the incision is made through the conjunctiva, the surgery is performed after placing a protective lens over the eye.

​

After lower blepharoplasty and under-eye fat repositioning, a light compression dressing with gauze is applied

to prevent blood accumulation at the surgical site and to reduce swelling.

​

💛The gauze can be removed 3 to 5 days after the surgery, and the stitches can be removed after 5 to 7 days. 💛
