Doctor! What should be done to prevent natural adhesion double eyelids from loosening?

First, the design must be done well.

​

The eyelids consist of both thin and thick skin.

This means that no matter how thick a person's eyelids are, there is always a relatively thin area.

The double eyelid crease must be created in this thin area so that it does not loosen.

However, since a line that is too small is also prone to loosening, we must find an appropriately high position within that thin area. This is not easy.

Everyone's eyes are shaped differently, and even the right and left eyes are different.

We must find the right line for each eye and design it so that the beginning, middle, and end of the line connect in a smooth curve when the eyes are open.

You cannot just draw a line on one side and copy it exactly on the other side.

Both eyes must be designed individually. To find this perfect line, the patient must repeatedly open and close their eyes, and this process must be done while sitting upright.

With the non-incisional method, the double eyelid forms exactly as it is drawn.

Therefore, there cannot be even a 1mm margin of error during the design phase.

The design must be drawn with a very fine pen so that it does not smudge.

Second, regarding the surgical technique, the thread passing through the eyelid skin must catch as many areas of the dermal tissue as possible.

Sometimes patients ask whether there will be five or six holes for the non-incisional method, but the number of holes is not that important.

Also, whether there is one knot or multiple knots is not the crucial factor.

What is important is that the surgical thread catches and passes through multiple parts of the eyelid dermis, rather than just one single area.

Tying the thread tightly in double or triple knots does not guarantee that the double eyelid won't loosen.

If tied too tightly, it causes more swelling and actually makes the thread more prone to breaking or unraveling.
