UBER Plastic Surgery Dr. Seo Seung-jo's Work-Life Balance Story Part 1!

Hello. This is UBER Plastic Surgery! :)
Until now, through the 'UBER Tells You' and 'Truth or Lie' corners,
we have delivered various plastic surgery information to our subscribers~
Today, especially through the 'UBER Story' corner,
rather than plastic surgery information,
we will talk about the work-life balance of a plastic surgeon~

Before being the chief director of UBER Plastic Surgery,
Dr. Seo Seung-jo, a board-certified plastic surgeon, talks about
the work-life balance of a plastic surgeon!
Shall we focus together on what kind of story is waiting?

Sent by our UBER Plastic Surgery subscribers,
the first question! Were you good at studying during your school days?
Dr. Seo graduated from a special-purpose high school,
and he said there were top scorers for the CSAT, the bar exam, and the national medical licensing exam in his class!
Because of that, our honest doctor says it's hard to say he was good at studying among them~
That's a story very far from mine... ^^

Second question! How do you become a doctor?
A doctor goes from being a medical student to an intern, a resident,
and finally becomes a board-certified specialist.
He says the hardest part of this process is the intern life~
Since an internship is a process to become a resident,
not only do you need good grades, but you also have to leave a good impression on everyone
and receive positive evaluations to get into the department you want!

Even when looking at documents, the line spacing and fonts must match,
and if there are spacing or spelling errors,
it becomes a huge issue as they are strictly scrutinized.
He says it's so rigid and disciplined
that the closest comparison would be the military~

He says there is a big difference between an intern and a resident!
While interns at least have a set time to get off work,
when Dr. Seo was going through his residency,
there was no clear clock-out time, so he practically lived at the hospital... a sad story...

Characteristics differ by department,
and recently, with the enactment of the Special Act on Medical Residents,
clock-out times and weekly working hours are often applied,
but back then, plastic surgery residents had so many emergency surgeries
that he almost couldn't date, let alone get married~

Last question! Is there a big difference between a board-certified specialist and a non-specialist?
In Korea, there is a very strong perception that if you did an internship,
you naturally have to do a residency.
This is also why Korea has a high proportion of specialists globally!
So, UBER Plastic Surgery's Dr. Seo Seung-jo also
naturally became a board-certified specialist!

Rather than dividing the difference between a specialist and a non-specialist,
becoming a board-certified plastic surgeon allows you to build the foundation for all surgeries,
such as reconstructive surgery, fracture surgery, and cancer surgery.

Also, in plastic surgery, you can think of it as treating
wounds in all skin tissues of our body.
By treating many bedsore cases,
you learn how wounds form and heal,
and you can distinguish whether a wound will heal or not,
so this exact aspect has been a huge help in cosmetic surgery as well!

Thanks to that, if a skin problem arises after cosmetic surgery,
or if it seems like a lot of scarring will remain, Dr. Seo Seung-jo
is equipped with the know-how to quickly catch it and minimize scarring!
After hearing this story, I feel like I can
build a lot of trust and visit UBER Plastic Surgery with even more confidence! :)
