Hello. This is Uber Plastic Surgery!

Today on 'Uber Informs,'

Dr. Seo Seung-jo is here to share

post-operative instructions for those who have undergone rhinoplasty!

For the best surgical results,

aftercare is also a very important part!

If you have had rhinoplasty,

follow the post-op instructions provided today by Dr. Seo Seung-jo of Uber Plastic Surgery

to ensure a fast and smooth recovery!

The first topic is using cold compresses.

There is no special method for cold compresses, but the timing is important.

We usually recommend doing it for about 48 hours, or two days.

Until then, bleeding may occur, so cold compresses are recommended

to constrict blood vessels and lower the temperature around the nose.

The second topic is when you have difficulty breathing.

This is a part that many people struggle with after surgery.

After surgery, cartilage is harvested from the nasal septum,

and cotton packing is inserted to prevent blood from pooling inside.

During the time the packing is in place (one or two days),

it is inevitably uncomfortable, so patience is required.

However, if you feel your nose is blocked even after the packing is removed,

there is a possibility that blood has pooled and the septum has swollen.

In this case, it is important to drain the blood and irrigate the area quickly,

so you must visit the clinic where you had the surgery.

The third topic is sneezing and blowing your nose.

It is okay to sneeze after rhinoplasty as long as you don't do it too forcefully.

However, for 2 to 3 weeks, and up to a month after surgery,

actions like blowing your nose severely can cause

deformation of the nose shape, so it is best to be careful.

If your nose feels itchy and stuffy,

maintain cleanliness inside the nose with nasal irrigation!

The fourth topic is wearing glasses.

We recommend wearing contact lenses after surgery if possible.

This is because the nose pads of the glasses can press on the implant, risking displacement.

However, if the glasses have wide nose pads and the splint has been removed after 1 to 2 weeks,

you may wear them as they are less likely to press on the implant.

But if the bridge of the nose is narrow, it is better not to wear them even after a month or two.

The fifth topic is about inflammatory reactions.

Typical symptoms of inflammation include

swelling, redness, pain, and a feeling of heat.

In the early stages, one or two of these may appear,

but they mostly occur in combination.

If you only feel a pulling or tightening sensation, the likelihood of inflammation is low.

A definitive sign of inflammation

is when it is accompanied by a feeling of heat.

Today on 'Uber Informs,'

along with Dr. Seo Seung-jo of Uber Plastic Surgery,

we learned about post-operative instructions for rhinoplasty!

Even if you are very uncomfortable after rhinoplasty, if you endure it just a little bit,

you will achieve a much more beautiful face.

So please refrain from drinking, smoking, and strenuous exercise

while you wait for your recovery!
