Hump Nose Rhinoplasty: Exploring Different Types with UBER Plastic Surgery!

Hello, this is UBER Plastic Surgery! :)

Today, we are back with part 2 of our hump nose rhinoplasty series!

In our previous post, we answered your questions about hump nose rhinoplasty.

In this post, we will look at different types of hump noses through photos,

and find out how each type can be surgically corrected

to create a smooth, refined nose!

Before we dive into the surgical methods for each type of hump nose,

shall we take a look at Dr. Seo Seung-jo's (Nose Seung-jo) analysis factors for hump nose rhinoplasty?

Among many rhinoplasty cases, there are many people who consider

hump nose rhinoplasty to be particularly difficult.

As shown above, compared to general rhinoplasty, hump noses

have many more factors to consider.

So if you are considering hump nose rhinoplasty,

make sure to read today's post carefully!

We hope you make a careful decision and achieve highly satisfying results!

We will look at hump nose rhinoplasty cases by referencing before & after images

of surgeries personally performed by Dr. Seo Seung-jo.

The after images are available on the UBER Plastic Surgery website,

so if you are curious, please come visit our homepage!

The first case is not a severe hump nose.

Therefore, the surgery involved slightly shaving the hump, filling the top with an implant,

and extending the nasal tip to raise it slightly.

Since the nasal bones were not wide and the axis was not deviated,

osteotomy or axis correction was not performed.

The second case is a nose with a bumpy hump.

In this case, the hump is shaved first,

and then an implant is inserted to smooth out the bumpiness.

For this specific case, if the nasal tip is operated on incorrectly,

it can droop, making it look like the hump has recurred,

or the nose can become uncontrollably long.

Therefore, the surgery is performed to ensure the nasal tip does not elongate if possible.

The third case is a nose with a single-angled hump.

Although there is only one angle, it is a case with a high hump.

So, the hump is shaved as conservatively as possible,

cartilage is filled into the bumpy nasal bridge line to make it smooth,

and the nasal tip is elevated.

The fourth case also has a high nasal bridge,

so it is performed as a no-implant surgery.

The hump is shaved to an appropriate height and the nasal tip is raised.

Usually, many clinics recommend implant surgery for this kind of case.

This is because when the hump is shaved and the tip is raised, the area between the nasal bone and the tip

can look significantly sunken.

Carefully and delicately filling this area with cartilage

to create a smooth nose line is not an easy task.

However, Dr. Seo Seung-jo at UBER Plastic Surgery

prefers not to shave a lot of the nasal bone and insert a single implant from the glabella to the tip.

Instead, he chooses to shave the nasal bone as conservatively as possible

and fill the glabella and the point just above the nasal tip with cartilage

to create a smooth nose line.

The fifth case has a high nasal bridge,

but the patient wants an even higher bridge.

In this case, the hump is slightly shaved, the bridge is raised with an implant,

and the low, short nasal tip is also extended and elevated.

Since the nasal bones are wide, reducing them through osteotomy

can transform a clunky-looking nose into a sophisticated one.

The final case involves all the factors to consider during hump nose rhinoplasty:

issues with the nasal bridge, nasal tip, nasal bone width, and nasal axis.

Because the nasal bridge is high, there is no need to use an implant.

The hump is conservatively shaved while the nasal tip is raised,

and the connection line between the shaved hump and the tip is smoothed out using cartilage

to create a seamless line from the glabella to just above the tip.

The wide nasal bones seen from the front are slightly reduced through osteotomy,

and the deviated nasal axis is straightened through cartilage grafting,

completely transforming the bumpy and clunky nose shape.

For hump noses, especially those with severe deviation like this,

you can achieve a dramatic image transformation after surgery!

Today, together with Dr. Seo Seung-jo of UBER Plastic Surgery,

we took a detailed look at surgical methods according to different types of hump nose cases.
