Today, I will be reviewing a case involving Natural Adhesion, Ptosis Correction, and Corner Canthoplasty.

This patient visited our clinic with concerns about upward-slanting outer eye corners and a stuffy-looking eye shape.

​

For the desired style, they wanted a semi-out line to create a refreshing and natural-looking eye shape,

and they wished to lower the upward-slanting corners to improve their fierce-looking impression.

Before Surgery

Since this patient had monolids and it was their first double eyelid surgery, they preferred a non-incisional method.

They wanted a semi-out line that looks natural yet gives a slightly sophisticated eye shape.

Also, their upward-slanting outer corners were a concern, and the positions of the corners were slightly different on each side, resulting in an asymmetrical eye shape.

They wanted to lower the outer corners a bit more to achieve a softer impression.

Consultation and Surgical Process

According to the patient's requests, we designed the double eyelid line as a semi-out line

and decided to proceed with Corner Canthoplasty to correct the asymmetrical outer corners.

​

If you look at the left outer corner, it is slanted much higher compared to the right side. We try to lower it to match both sides as closely as possible,

but in cases where there is a significant difference, trying to lower the highly slanted side too much to match the opposite side

often leads to difficulty in opening the eyes.

Moreover, it can become too excessive, frequently causing side effects such as the eyelid turning outward (ectropion).

Therefore, we made an effort to lower both sides as much as possible without making it look unnatural.

Rather than trying to match the left and right sides 100%,

lowering them as much as possible based on the existing shape is much more natural,

and it is a method that leaves patients more satisfied.

​

Post-Operative Progress

With Corner Canthoplasty, the corners may appear slightly over-lowered on the day of surgery,

but this improves over time. In this patient's case, you can see that the outer corners

have naturally lowered.

​

The swelling from the double eyelid surgery has also subsided significantly,

making the overall eye shape look refreshing and more defined.
