What is the reason for multiple folds appearing over time after double eyelid surgery?

​

​

A: Usually, as time passes, especially in cases of non-incisional surgery, the original double eyelid fixation

gradually weakens, causing the original line to loosen and multiple folds to form above it.

Also, as we age, there is a problem of volume loss above the line.

​

In particular, as orbital fat diminishes and sunken upper eyelids occur, multiple folds are more likely to form.

When multiple folds occur like this, they can sometimes be resolved by strongly refixating the line while simultaneously performing ptosis correction.

If necessary, methods such as fat grafting to restore volume, or an incisional method to reposition and pull down the upper eyelid fat, may be required.
