In the case of lower canthoplasty, finding and releasing the previously anchored threads often allows the eye to return to its original state.

If necessary, further dissecting the adhesions will help it return more effectively.

For lateral canthoplasty, reconstruction is performed by removing the previous scar or the exposed red mucosal tissue and repositioning the outer corner of the eye closer to its original location.
