What is the maximum number of times you can get revision rhinoplasty?

​

​

A: There is no specific limit to the maximum number of times revision surgery can be performed.

Basically, if you undergo surgery multiple times, the internal scar tissue worsens, causing the skin to become stiff and less elastic.

Considering this, it becomes crucial to appropriately and sturdily rebuild the internal structures so they can adequately support the tension.

​

Generally, ear cartilage and septal cartilage are used, and in cases of severe contracture, using rib cartilage is known to provide sufficient strength to maintain the shape.

Another point to note is that if foreign materials, including silicone, are present, the contracture can progressively worsen,

so we highly recommend performing the surgery using autologous tissue as much as possible.

If contracture has occurred due to the presence of silicone or other implants, one method is to remove the implant, wait as long as possible for the contracture to resolve, and then perform the surgery.
