Hello~!
Your beauty universe! This is Weverse Plastic Surgery :) ❤
Today, we have prepared a time for Dr. Shim Jeong-hwan
to explain the methods of revision eye surgery.
Just like the first surgery, there are incisional and non-incisional methods.
You might simply think, 'Since my previous surgery was incisional, of course the revision must be incisional too,'
but in reality, the previous surgical method and the revision method are not heavily related.
The most important factors are your current eye condition and the double eyelid shape you desire.

[Cases where the non-incisional method is possible]
(1) When you want to raise the line
If your skin is thin and there is no sagging, and you want a higher line than your current one, a non-incisional method is possible.
(2) Double eyelid asymmetry
For eyes suitable for the non-incisional method, if you simply want to match the line to the higher side, it is entirely possible to do so without an incision.
In cases like the above, even if your previous surgery was incisional, a non-incisional revision is possible.
[Cases where the incisional method is required]
(1) When you want to lower the line
Because the previous line must be untied and removed, this is impossible with a non-incisional method.
The same applies if you want to release a strong fixation or remove severe scarring.
(2) When the skin is sagging
There is a limit to how much a line can be raised using a non-incisional method.
If the skin is sagging so much that it covers the previous double eyelid, the sagging skin must be excised.
(3) When the skin is thick
If the fold has loosened because the skin is thick, an incisional method is needed to create a more secure double eyelid.
(4) Double eyelid asymmetry
While matching the line to the higher side can be done non-incisionally, if you prefer the lower line, an incisional method is required.
(5) Ptosis correction
If there is severe asymmetry in the eye-opening muscle strength, or if the eye-opening strength itself is weak,
the eye-opening muscles must be definitively corrected through an incision.
Since every patient has different desires and eye conditions, for detailed information, please consult with a specialist
to comprehensively consider your options and be reborn with beautiful eyes.
We will return next time with even more informative content.
Thank you.

Frequently Asked Questions
I had my first surgery with an incision. Do I need to have revision surgery with an incision as well?
No, there is no significant correlation between the previous surgical method and the revision surgical method. The most important factors are the current condition of your eyes and the desired double eyelid shape, so revision surgery can often be performed with a non-incisional method depending on the conditions.
When is non-incisional double eyelid revision surgery possible?
It is possible when the skin is thin, there is no sagging, and you want to raise the double eyelid line. Additionally, if there is double eyelid asymmetry and you simply want to match it to the higher line, it can also be corrected with a non-incisional method.
I want to lower my double eyelid line. Is it possible with a non-incisional method?
No, it is not possible. To lower the line, the previous double eyelid line must be released and removed, so it must be done with the incisional method. The same applies when strong fixation needs to be released or severe scars need to be removed.
What surgical method is needed if the eyelid skin is sagging or thick?
The incisional method is necessary. If the skin is too saggy and covers the double eyelid, the saggy skin must be removed. If the skin is thick and the double eyelid has loosened, a stronger line must be created through an incision.
Which method, incisional or non-incisional, is used for correcting asymmetrical eyes?
It depends on the desired line height. If you want to match the higher line, it is possible with a non-incisional method, but if you want to correct it to match the lower line, the existing line must be released, so incisional surgery is required.
