Your beauty universe! This is Weverse Plastic Surgery :) ❤

We have prepared the second Q&A session with Dr. Shim Jung-hwan! ❤
Today's topic is about 'asymmetrical eye correction'.
I want to correct my asymmetrical eyes, is it okay to do just one side?
A: If the eye-opening muscle strength is similar and the asymmetry is only caused by a difference in the double eyelid crease height,
we sometimes perform surgery on just one side.
However, if you only get surgery on one side, the asymmetry may actually become more noticeable while the swelling goes down,
and a difference in eye-opening strength can also develop. Therefore, we usually recommend operating on both sides.
Additionally, if incisional surgery is required, there may be a difference in the feel of the double eyelids on both sides even after the swelling subsides,
and fine-tuning the asymmetry during surgery can actually be impossible on just one side, which is why bilateral surgery is recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have surgery on only one eye for uneven eye correction?
Yes, it is possible depending on the conditions. If the strength of opening both eyes is similar and only the height of the double eyelid line is asymmetrical, surgery on only one eye may be performed. However, there can be various variables, so consultation with a specialist is necessary.
What problems can arise during the recovery period if only one eye is operated on?
While the swelling subsides, the unevenness of the eyes may appear more prominent. Additionally, there is a possibility that a new difference in the strength of opening both eyes may occur after surgery, which is why in most cases, surgery on both eyes is recommended.
Why is surgery on both eyes recommended for uneven eye correction?
Surgery on both eyes allows for subtle correction of uneven eyes. If only one eye is operated on, asymmetry may appear more severe during the recovery process, or the strength of opening the eyes may change. Therefore, surgery on both eyes is advantageous for achieving overall symmetry.
What should I be aware of when performing uneven eye surgery with the incisional method?
When performing incisional surgery on only one eye, a difference in the feel of the double eyelids may remain even after the swelling subsides. Furthermore, subtle symmetrical correction may not be possible during surgery, so we recommend surgery on both eyes for natural results.
