Hello~!
Your beauty universe! This is Weverse Plastic Surgery :) ❤

We have prepared our first Q&A session with Dr. Shim Jeong-hwan! ❤
Today's topic is about the 'out-fold' double eyelid line.
Many people worry that getting a high and glamorous double eyelid will result in "sausage eyes."
For those of you who have this question, Dr. Shim Jeong-hwan would like to explain it directly with illustrations.
If I get a glamorous and high out-fold, is there a high chance of getting "sausage eyes"?
A: "Sausage eyes" can occur if the skin volume below the double eyelid line is thick,
so it is true that the higher the line, the higher the probability of it happening.
To create an out-fold, the line must be higher than the angle of the epicanthic fold. If the line is set that high
and a sausage line is expected, you should avoid it.
Instead, if you release the epicanthic fold through epicanthoplasty, an out-fold can be achieved at a slightly lower line,
so please consult with the doctor during your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a high chance of getting 'sausage eyes' if I undergo surgery for a glamorous, high out-line?
Yes, the higher the line, the higher the chance of developing 'sausage eyes'. This is because the skin volume below the double eyelid line becomes thicker. Therefore, setting an appropriate line height according to your eye condition is a way to prevent side effects.
Do I necessarily have to set the line high to create an out-line double eyelid?
Yes, generally, the line must be higher than the angle of the epicanthal fold for an out-line to form. However, if a 'sausage line' is expected due to an excessively high line, it is best to avoid that height.
Is there a way to create an out-line double eyelid while avoiding 'sausage eyes'?
Yes, combining it with epicanthoplasty (front canthoplasty) can be one method. By releasing the epicanthal fold through epicanthoplasty, you can create a natural out-line even with a slightly lower double eyelid line than before.
Is pre-surgical consultation essential to prevent 'sausage eye' side effects?
Yes, sufficient consultation with a specialist before surgery is essential. This is because a comprehensive diagnosis is needed to accurately determine if an out-line is possible safely without 'sausage eye' side effects, considering the degree of the epicanthal fold and the thickness of the eyelid skin.
