Hello~!

Your beauty universe! This is Uverse Plastic Surgery :)

Today, we would like to guide you through the post-operative self-care methods after eye surgery.

Cold compresses from the day of surgery to day 2

Chill the ice pack in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours before use,

and place a thin towel over your eyes when applying the compress!

Warm compresses from day 3 onwards

Heat the pack in the microwave or soak it in warm water before applying!

(*Caution: If using a microwave, do not heat for more than 10 seconds as it may burst.)

Disinfect with saline solution

Please disinfect the sutured area once a day for 5 days using the prescribed saline solution.

Applying eye ointment

Apply the eye ointment 1 to 2 times a day until the day after stitch removal,

and apply the ophthalmic gel inside your eyes once a day before going to sleep.

Wearing contact lenses after 2 weeks

It is difficult to wear contact lenses for 2 weeks, so please wear glasses during this period.

Lateral or Lower Canthoplasty

If you have had a lateral or lower canthoplasty, you may experience a sensitive or stinging sensation.

After stitch removal

Washing your face and applying makeup are allowed from the day after stitch removal!

(However, please do not rub too hard.)

Drinking & Smoking

Drinking and smoking can cause inflammation, so please refrain from them for about 4 weeks!

We will be back with more informative content next time :)

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I apply compresses after eye surgery?

You should apply cold compresses from the day of surgery up to two days, and warm compresses from the third day onwards. For cold compresses, place the pack in the freezer for 1-2 hours, then use it with a thin towel underneath. For warm compresses, heat it in a microwave for less than 10 seconds or use a warm water bath.

When can I wash my face and apply makeup after eye surgery?

Yes, you can wash your face and apply makeup from the day after your stitches are removed. However, it's important to wash and apply makeup gently, without rubbing the surgical area too hard to avoid irritation.

When can I wear contact lenses after surgery?

You can wear contact lenses starting two weeks after surgery. For two weeks after surgery, wearing lenses can irritate your eyes, so you should wear glasses instead during this period.

Can I drink alcohol or smoke after eye surgery?

No, alcohol consumption and smoking should be avoided for about 4 weeks. Alcohol and tobacco can cause inflammation in the surgical area and slow down recovery, so please avoid them for about a month for safe results.

How should I disinfect the surgical area and apply ointment?

You should disinfect the stitch area once a day for 5 days with the prescribed saline solution. Apply eye ointment 1-2 times a day until the day after stitch removal, and insert the ophthalmic gel into your eye once a day before bedtime.
