Hello~

your beauty universe! This is Dr. Shim Jung-hwan, Head Director of Uverse Plastic Surgery :)

Today, I would like to review the case of a female patient

who decided to get double eyelid surgery after using double eyelid glue.

Before Surgery

This patient was getting double eyelid surgery for the first time,

but she had been using double eyelid glue for 5 years. She developed allergic symptoms from the glue,

so she stopped using it and visited our clinic wanting to create double eyelids through surgery.

Prolonged use of double eyelid glue can cause the skin to sag, leading to multiple eyelid folds or ptosis.

In this patient's case, multiple folds were already visible.

Consultation and Surgical Method

Overall, the patient wanted a natural line and did not want any canthoplasty,

so we planned a non-incisional double eyelid surgery to create a thin in-out line that is visible all the way to the front.

Because her right eye had many multiple folds and fine lines, it could look weak even after double eyelid surgery.

Therefore, we also performed ptosis correction so that her eyes would look clear and defined when open.

2 Weeks Post-Op

Overall, she has relatively little swelling, and the line is settling into the thin in-out shape as planned.

The double eyelid line is well-maintained as a clear line from the front to the end,

and the symmetry on both sides is well-matched, so we expect it to look even more natural at the one-month mark.

In this post, we reviewed a case of natural adhesion and ptosis correction.

We will continue to provide more detailed information through various case reviews in the future.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment and we will answer them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the side effects of using double eyelid glue for a long time?

Prolonged use can lead to sagging skin, resulting in multiple eyelid folds or ptosis. In the patient case described, 5 years of double eyelid glue use led to allergic reactions and multiple creases on the eyelids.

Is non-incisional double eyelid surgery possible for eyes with multiple folds?

Yes, it is possible. In the case described, a non-incisional natural adhesion method was performed on eyes with multiple and fine wrinkles, and epicanthoplasty was also performed to create clear eyes that do not look tired when opened.

Can an in-out line be created without canthoplasty?

Yes, it is possible depending on the patient's eye condition. The patient in this case did not want canthoplasty, so a thin in-out line that was visible as much as possible towards the front was planned, achieving natural results with only non-incisional double eyelid surgery.

How much swelling is there after natural adhesion and epicanthoplasty?

While there are individual differences, swelling is usually minimal by the second week, and the line begins to settle. Two weeks after surgery, overall swelling is minimal, both sides are well-symmetrical, and it is expected to become even more natural by one month.
